Cardon Tax Not To Blame Residential Garbage collection will rise but its not because of the Federal Government's Carbon Tax. A 140 litre bin will rise $28 per year to $267 next financial year while larger 240 litre bins will jump $33 extra to $342 per year. And if you thought you can avoid paying the extra charge by taking your rubbish to the tip yourself, then think again. Blaxland tip will increase their rates by $9.15 per trip, while grass clipping and organic material that can't be chipped with rise about $100. However, a Blue Mountains Council spokeswomen was quick to dispel suggestions from media organisations that the rise was due to the Carbon Tax. "Blaxland tip falls under the threshold for any Carbon Tax," she said. "The rises are due to other factors such as State taxes."
